If romantic visions of the French Riviera and Cole Porter’s cafe society fill your thoughts butcause pain in your pocketbook, why not treat yourself to a taste of the contineat at Yvonne’s Rhapsody in Blue, 525 Ocean Blvd.?

Owner Yvonne appeared in nightclubs and hotels in the United States, Canada, Central America, South America, Jamaica, Cuba, The Dominican Republic, and her native France before opening a dinner club in what was once known as the A. Drexel-Biddle Estates. The Estates were named after a prominent Philadelphia family, who often entertained Presidents Grant and Wilson, Arturo Toscanini, Enrico Caruso, and Mary Pickford. 

The location is now known as the Morel Estates. Singer Yvonne entertains with a repertoire of classical Spanish, American and French songs. Along with country tunes for the patrons pleasure. 

Julio, a strolling guitar player, adds warmth to the luxurious continental atmosphere. The restaurant features French, Italian, and American cuisine in dining rooms overlooking the ocean. Both the restaurant and cocktail lounge are open nightly, with continuous entertainment after 8:30 p.m. on weekends.

Julio was a gifted guitarist who played Spanish guitar to the delight of many listeners over the years.
